Geilo at Crufts with Ross Catt

Happy Birthday Uschi

News Update

March 2009

March 20th:  Since October last year our female Casji has suffered badly with Diarrhoea, she has constantly been under our vets treatment and had the usual antibiotics etc. We have a very good vet, like us he was becoming very concerned as Casji was losing lots of weight, so recently she spent a few days in our veterinary hospital for tests. The results of the tests showed that she is suffering from an intestinal problem called 'Intestinal Lymphangiectasia', we understand this is not common in the breed, it is not curable but managable, so now Casji is on a special diet. She has and is still a very active dog, the complaint and loss of weight has not debilitated her in any way at all. If anybody has had a dog with the same problem, we would be very interested to hear from you.

March 8th:  Crufts - Unfortunately we didn't do very well at Crufts this year.  In previous years the dogs we have entered have always been placed.  However it was not to be this year.  Geilo was in the mid limit class of 9, where he was handled by our Australian friend Ross Catt.  He was not placed.  Elkie was shown by Ian in a Special  Yearling class of 16.  Earlier in the week Elkie had started limping for no apparent reason.  We took her to the vets and he could find nothing wrong.  She appeared to be OK , but when she went into the ring you could see that she wasn't sound on the move. Never mind we enjoyed the day and Ross's company!!

March 3rd:  Happy 6th Birthday today Uschi - to a very special and lucky girl.
